This was my introduction to lovingkindness and meditation, and I was absolutely thrilled with this book! I believe that if you read this book with an open mind and really listen, you will find that you can experience "real love" with the world around you. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone feeling depressed, unloved, unhappy, disconnected, and the like. This book brings real hope that we can have fulfilling experiences and relationships with the world around us by first cultivating the capacity for love within us.The practices in this book cultivate positivity, healing, love, and a sense of wholeness with the universe, which is tremendously powerful. Sharon also used plenty of real world examples and has a down-to-earth style, which makes so if this much less daunting to beginners like me! I plan on buying Sharon's other books, including a print copy of this book as a gift for someone, continuing my studies of lovingkindness and meditation, and seeking supportive communities as mentioned in this book.

I wish I could like this book more than I do. It's a rehash of "loving kindness" meditation techniques. Other Buddhist writers have done a better job of covering the material.

I bought the book on Amazon and I love it. It is filled with a lot of insight and wisdom, but the information is very accessible. I was able to attend a retreat based on the book in July in Seattle which was a great adjunct to the book.

This is a wonderful book. One can read it and use it immediately to live in the moment for your whole life.

Sharon's book Real Love is a very important addition to the vast (and growing) mindfulness literature. Her accessible, compassionate voice helps reads take mindfulness practice "off the cushion" and into the daily life of relationship (with others and ourselves). In a time of division and separation as we're seeing play out on the world stage right now, it is so important to take in the heart-teachings of someone like Sharon and learn how to bring down the barriers to real love. Wonderful book: absolutely worth reading it and then re-reading it! We can never do enough loving-kindness practice.

This book came to me at a time where I really needed to hear it and actually could take it in. So much written here is simple and has been said in other ways before but for me that just made it feel familiar, like wearing your favorite sweater. Like remembering what I know to be true. Loved it. Truly.

Sharon is a master at describing, in layman terms, how the science and practice of developing the skills to love can be brought to the world. Read it if you want to work on your own personal development, read it if you think you could have better relationships with others and read it if you want to create ripples of loving kindness that circulate around the world!

I enjoyed reading this book. The character development was good and. The ntrigue kept me very much involved. I did not understand all the financial intrigue, but got the important part. I have always enjoyed a Baldacci book and will buy another. A good read. Mickey

Some how I missed this book in my quest to read every Baldacci book in the order they were written. I am very glad I discovered it. Lots of suspenseful action and Baldacci does a good job of creating and describing his characters so you can visualize each one. Great book! Worth every page turned!

Two sisters both police, well at one time were, and a lawyer too, get involve in a murder, and it get going from there, as I said at times it's a little boring then pick up real fast so you want to keep going, though the ending was a little connie but if you a David Baldacci fan you will enjoy it, give it a try.

Not Baldaccci's best. I liked this the least of any of his books. And I've read them all. He's my favorite author.

I have read all of David's books - some three and four times and love them! But while writing is still very good, I did not like ANY of the people. They did not seem real or reasonable. More King and Maxwell. No more Mace,she is unreal. Actually nasty. With K /M we find their feelings, not so with mace. At least not real ones.

I’m so annoyed. Decided to purchase this book even thou it was $10 because I really liked the other 3 I read from this author which were only $7. Im only on chapter 14 but I’m thinking about giving up on it because I cannot stand that silly main character. If I thought one of the other people in the book would come along and shove her smart ass off that stupid motorcycle and send her tough skinny girl ass back to jail I would continue reading. Oh well, you win you lose.

I really enjoyed this book; Strong plot and characters. I felt immersed in the story and was sorry when the book ended. I’d really like to see the Perry sisters return. My only issue was the use of the word bandit to describe bad guys. It’s not the 1800s. Find a better word.

I like the characters that the author creates. They are real and flawed like the rest of us. I cared hat happened to them in the twists and turns of the wonderfully masterful plot. In other words, I couldn't put the book down!

Wow, where to start. Let me first say that I was waiting for this sequel like a kid at Christmas. I even pre-ordered it so I would get it as soon as it was available and then stayed up late checking my kindle until it appeared and at the risk of being exhausted at work, I stayed up and read front to back all night long. Well, the happiness I felt at 2am was long gone by the time it was 5am and I'd finished reading this book. It was nothing like its predecessor "Bared to You" which was a wonderful read with strong, mature characters who were interesting and pushed you to the point of not wanting to put the book down.I don't know who the people were who showed up in this book. Eva a sassy, strong young woman of 24 turned into a needy, whiny, weakling who phoned in her robotic performance. As for Gideon, he was an alpha male who commanded attention with a cool, dark veneer and intelligence made even more enticing by his secret past and love for Eva. But, for this book, he too phoned in his robotic performance and became a two note of sex and violence. I was looking forward to these characters fitting the original title of the book "Deeper in You" because I thought that's exactly the direction this book would take the reader but it didn't even come close. This leads me to think Ms. Day herself knew this book wasn't going anywhere and therefore changed the title to "Reflected in You" because that's exactly what large parts of this novel were, a reflection back to the most filler parts of "Bared to You." It seems this book was written under the assumption people would read it without having read the first due to all the over-telling of places, events, and secondary characters. And yes I understand the reflection part is supposed to be Eva reflected in Gideon but I hardly find that to be true given she was an open book and he was a closed one.I want to say if you decide to take on a subject such as Child Sexual Abuse or any form of abuse it should be treated in a manner that is respectful and intelligent for those out there who have really suffered from abuse. It's not something to be taken lightly and research is required before putting information out there, yes even in a fictional book. This is the problem I had with "50 Shades of Gray" along with the general bad writing and plot, but I digress. I get that Eva and Gideon are victims who have been pre-disposed due to their abuse to use sex like an addict uses drugs - when they're happy, sad, angry, bored, lonely, etc. to feel good about themselves and their relationship. But, Gideon was made to appear like he was using Eva as his sex toy and Eva was just happy he would show up to use her. The scene in the limo was the worst ever - not romantic in the least. None of the repetitive sex scenes were what I would classify as "HOT." There was so much hair fisting in every sex scene I seriously wondered if these people would show up bald in book 3. And, while I'm on repetitive, Hello- raised/arched eyebrow is the new biting lip. Geez everyone's response to anything was always a raised or arched eyebrow - I guess this means no one in the book had botox.Getting back to plot fails - I read this book twice because I really thought I was tired and it wasn't as bad as I initially thought, but it was. There was so much potential here from "Bared to You" like Eva facing her own abuser and using her Krav Maga skills to kick his a** maybe even kill him in self-defense then Gideon would have to deal with a woman who took control of her own problem while being submissive in the bedroom - that would be something I'd like to see him work with. And, that would be a true reflection of him since I think he probably killed his abuser.There are many other plot fails, but the biggest is to bring in a non-descript character to run down the Cliff Notes of what happened to Nathan and for anyone who's watched one episode of" Law & Order" knows that was a complete fail and just plain lazy writing. If you didn't want to get into the Nathan thing why even put it in the story? It did nothing except make Eva look like a desperate women and Gideon a thug - not the refine "urbane" New Yorkers they've been painted as. Not to mention the whole "event" and most of the book was predictable from chapter 2.I'm going to be completely honest and say I feel like this book was dumb downed to match in my opinion the "50 Shades" series. And if that's true then this book was written for the money and not for the art evident in I paid $3.82 for "Bared to You" and this book is $9.99. Sad being picked up by a publisher killed this series. I would not recommend.

Audible Review: This is the same narrator from books 1 and 2. Overall, a good narrator. I don't exactly enjoy her Gideon voice, but I am very picky about that and it's probably a me issue.Story Review: While I enjoy getting as much of this couple as I can get, this is my least favorite book so far.Gideon and Ava spend the whole book pretending not to be a couple. You know why because of the ending in book 2. Personal preference has me wanting to read a couple together, not separate.As one threat comes to a slow close, a new one pops up with a reporter trying to make Gideon look nasty because of her own agenda. These past women in his life are annoying and tiresome. The worst is Corrine.My biggest pet peeve about this book was Gideon is still constantly catering to Corrine. I don't doubt his love for Ava and I do not think he wants Corrine, but he needs to cut her loose. It's disrespectful to keep going to her when all she wants to do is come between Ava and him. I don't care that he feels guilty. He shouldn't. Corrine broke it off with him and she made her bed.Ava still has Brett trying to get back with her and yet I'm actually not bothered that much by it. For one, Gideon deserves to feel what that's like since he won't cut Corrine loose and two, Ava is not encouraging Brett. In fact, she has been pretty insistent to him that she is in love with Gideon and he doesn't have a chance. Should she cut ties to a friendship? Yes, but why should she if Gideon won't show her the same respect. I am usually much harder on the female in books but in this instance, I agree with her.I enjoyed the ending but I hate that when a good thing happens a bad thing follows closely behind. That can get a bit tiresome, as well. I am, however, still looking forward to book 4.

I started this series years ago and really enjoyed books 1 and 2. I do remember this book being delayed and after awhile the series became another book on my TBR. So I decided to finally get back to this series and read books 1 and 2 again, which I still love. This book, nope, nada, no!I was annoyed 95% of this book. Eva lost her appeal, Gideon was acting shady, and the secondary characters were so annoying.Eva - I don’t understand why she lets everyone step all over her. She had no backbone and is not a strong lead anymore. She lost her appeal and her “zing” in this book. The whole Brett storyline was disappointing.Gideon - while I understand why he acted the way he did, he should of communicated better with Eva. His loyalty to Corrine was just annoying and unnecessary, especially at the end.Secondary characters- Eva’s mother was always annoying but somewhat tolerable in the first two books, but for some reason, she was downright insane and dramatic for no reason. I wished Eva would’ve put her mother in her place and kept her there instead of backing off. The whole not telling her father what happened was a low blow, but to then justify why her mother kept it from him was just stupid. He’s your father!!! He should have known. If anything he probably could’ve help with her mother’s actions. Clary, was just an idiot throughout the book. He was a horrible BFF, especially his actions in the second book. He is a hot mess who has no right to give any opinion on anyone’s personal life. He annoyed me and was so ughh...If I can describe this book with one word it would be childish. Everyone in this book was a child with adult jobs. No one communicated, no one had common sense, no one respected each other, and the whole back and forth was getting old. I’m disappointed in this book and will not read/buy books 4&5. The sparks between Eva and Gideon was gone. They played this back and forth game with Brett and Corrine that the appeal of their love for one another was lost. I can’t understand why or how they can put the feelings of their ex’s before each other. Between Gideon running to Corrine, who by the way disrespected Eva on multiple occasions and then had the nerve to kiss Gideon in front of her, was a WTF moment for me. After all of that, Gideon still would run to Corrine every time she cries. Why? Over some unfounded guilt that happen years ago. Then there’s Eva and Gideon. She knows he wants her back. You would think she would decline and break all ties with him out of respect for all parties involved, but nope! She instead goes on a “date” with him, goes to an event with him and make plans to see him on a weekend - huh! I can’t with this book or the characters. This will be the first time I stopped reading a series without completion. Usually, I try to stick it out to get to the epilogue, but I don’t think it’s worth it. This series had such high hopes and ugh... failure for me. So disappointing. Okay, rant over.

My 8 year old and 10 year old boys love this book. They always sit at their desks and try the different pictures. Definitely worth the money for a non-video game pass time.

This book is perfect for that task and adds a lot of fun to the process of learning.We've been using this book as a fun substitute for just writing a bunch of letters or writing his name and the names of his family over and over again. Our four-year-old adores sitting down and drawing cartoons while mom and I love the fact that he's actually learning how to draw his letters.This is a spiral bound, 173-page book that teaches upper and lowercase letters. Each page is laid out in simple steps that begin with a letter and ends in a fun drawing! Each page of this large book is colorful and the drawings are creative and simple to follow along even for parents that don't have much artistic talent or inspiration.I love this book! Recommended!

Drawing Cartoons Letter by Letter is NOT just for kids, I picked it for myself, thinking it would be something my grandchildren and I could do together. We had a lot of fun sitting around the kitchen table drawing fun little characters. This would be a great teaching tool for afterschool or homeschoolers. Letters aren’t just for spelling anymore. Learn how to draw more than 130 lively cartoon characters starting with capital and lowercase letters from very simple to more complex. Watch an “U” turn into a Winner’s trophy or small “e” into a Little Leaguer. It starts off with a visual step by step drawing of an alphabet letter and builds. The fact that it uses a spiral bound spine on the book allows for the pages to be perfectly flat which is especially nice when you are drawing (see photo). I’m enjoying and I can’t draw

I recently had the chance to take a look at the art book “Drawing Cartoons Letter By Letter” by Christopher Heart recently and wanted to give my thoughts on it. First off I have bought many books of Christopher Heart over the years, mostly the Cartooning and Manga inspired ones. This one does show off cartooning styles, mostly drawing you might see in Sunday morning comic strips, but this book is more geared toward younger children. Outside a 2 page introduction there is no written instructions in the examples. All the examples are displayed step by step in an easy to follow format, which is to make it easier to follow for younger artists who have not yet learned how to read yet.The Gimmick of the book is that the first step of the drawing is starting with a litter, then each step it adds some more lines till eventually it finishes with a drawing, with the last picture of the group a finished colored version of the project. In the finished colored step the letter used is even more pronounced making it easy to see where the whole drawing started. It is a nice touch fitting the theme of the book even tough to makes the final drawing look weird. Most of the drawings are usually people but there are a few oddity’s thrown in for good measure like a city scape or a Trophy.Something I did notice is that book organized by the letters that are being used and not by difficulty. While it makes sense to order the book in alphabetical order like that I do think it makes it harder for younger artists to determine the difficulty of the drawing, possibly my a start system where 1 start is easy and either 3 or 5 starts is hard. Most of the drawings I saw look easy enough to draw but I could see some examples being a little tough to pull off for the youngings. Not too difficult, especially if they priciest on some of the easer drawings first.How the letters are used to create the characters are actually the most interesting part of the book itself. In most cases the letter being used is a major focal point of the character being drawn either being a part of the body or head of the character. There are some that just feel cheap, like the letter being used as part of a girls ponytail, or a characters nose or mouth, but since there are over 130 examples you can forgive it, or even use the excuse that it was an example of using a letter for smaller details.Another quark of the book is that it has a spiral binding, making it a lot easier for children to lay the book completely flat so they can easily look at the book while drawing. This is an overlooked part of the book which I think it worth mentioning.All in all I think it’s a great book, especially for the kids. The examples are simple enough for most elementary school children to pick up and it a good start for beginners. The examples all look and feel different outside the fact that a large majority of them are human characters. If your child is starting to have an interest in drawing I say give this book a shot,

This book is an amazing tool that helps you break free from your comfort zone. Having been someone who has used Chris's other books, chibi, kawaii, manga etc, I was excited to try this book out. It teaches you fun character design and makes you thinkk outside of the box. I can wait to create my own characters using this method or even making mine a bit different from Chris's is fun to do! I thought the pages were going to be too thin and rip but I've not had an issue. Maybe for someone who is super heavy handed they might crinkle it a bit? I was given this book for my complete and honest review. I love this book. ♡

Lonely Planet's Cuba Travel Guide was wonderful. The two guys who wrote this guide and their adventurous Cuban driver were outstanding. There were two books about Cuba that were invaluable to me in traveling and trying to understand a little about this fascinating country. One was Julia Zweig's book, "What everyone should know about Cuba" and Lonely Planet. Two examples: Lonely Planet's description of Cuba as "A Prince in Tattered Clothing" couldn't have been more accurate. But what I found both amusing and impressive was the accurate detail about this quickly changing country. There is a hotel in Cienfuegos that Lonely Planet mentioned that had tennis courts but no fence to stop the balls from rolling away as far as their momentum would take them. We went to the hotel and saw the two tennis courts which had no fences to stop the tennis balls exactly as described in Lonely Planet. What a useful guide. ¡¡¡Gracias a Lonely Planet!!! This was our go-to guide while we were in Cuba. Apparently it was everyone else's favorite guidebook too, as we saw it often on our trip. Covers a lot of areas, lots of information... Note that the restaurants in Havana that they recommend are likely going to be booked if you don't get an early reservation. Seems like every tourist goes to those restaurants. We didn't use their accommodations recommendations, it was nicer to stay in Casa Particulares and enjoy the company of the locals with home cooked meals instead of the super-slow service at government-run restaurants.

It is hard to write a guide to Cuba as things change daily if not more often. This guide was fairly useful in providing good background information for the areas I visited (Havana, Matanzas and Pinar del Rio). However, a number of items were missing. I could not find important sites I visited (for example, the Grand Synagogue in Havana, some popular paladars in Havana, hand-made book workshop and old pharmacy museum in Matanzas, Orchid Gardens in Pinar del Rio) I found the table of contents and index useless - I would look things up, they would not be listed, but then carefully pouring over the book, I would occasionally find the item I was searching. Also, the restaurant reviews were not on target. Many glowing reviews were not backed up by reality (and in Cuba, you have to have low expectations for food, but still, the reviews should be more honest). I also suspect many hotel reviews are not on target. Our hotel got a good review which it deserved, but we visited another hotel that the book gave a decent review to and found out it was cockroach infested and moldy from flooding. So, I would caution, be careful to double check hotel and food reviews on Trip Advisor.

I had hoped to have info on how to travel to Cuba from the US... But this seems to be a UK version of traveling to Cuba which doesn't have any info on how to travel there from the US. Other than that, I think it is a good book...

I am getting ready for my upcoming trip to Cuba. I purchased recently the "Puerto Rico" book from the same publishing company and really liked it. Lonely Planet Cuba was another awesome source of information. I love the recommendations, the maps and the great advises. I will be able to enjoy my trip better with all that good information! Great guide in deed.Keep in mind the Cuba timming: everything is slower in Cuba.The restaurant suggestions are amaising. For the restaureants hightly recomended here I would go there in the morning or the day before and book a table. Otherwise there is no way to get in. Also those restaurants are usually places to find other tourists (you can spot them from the lonely planet books on their tables). Some find this to subsract from the experience. I find it a great way to meet other people and make traveling companions.One last point is the varadero diving spots. In the book it says that the diving is free and if one needs an instructor they can pay for it. When we arrived (May 2016) they told us that we need to pay 15 CUC per person for instructor and grear. It took a great deal of convinsing and pointing to the book to make it 5 per person for the instructor (since we had our own gear). They also insisted that it was like this for years, so we pointed to the publishing date of the book that was 6 months prior and finally they accepted our offer.

I don't think the writers actual went to Cuba nor visited the restaurants they recommend. The recommendations are some of the worst restaurants around, and though since this book is written as an encyclopedia that has all information about the area so it includes the best restaurants, but it skims over them quickly without properly outlining that they are the places to go. I don't want a book that list every restaurant, accommodation, and site in the area, that's practically a glorified phone book, and that is exactly how this book is written. This is NOT a guide book.

Awesome travel guide. Took it to Cuba with me and used it frequently. Good mix of history and guidebook. My only complaint was that the Havana Map was a little confusing in that it was in two different blocks and a little confusing to use. Otherwise, this book has it all.
